PRIVACY POLICY

We believe that protecting the personal information we handle across all areas of our business, as well as the personal information of all of our executives and employees, is a social responsibility. Accordingly, we have established the following Privacy Policy and are committed to its implementation.

  1. Personal information will be obtained by lawful and fair means, with the purposes of use clearly specified, and collected only to the extent necessary to achieve those purposes.
  2. We will not, in principle, disclose or provide personal information to third parties without the consent of the individual concerned, except as required to by law.
  3. We will comply with all applicable laws, government guidelines, and other norms regarding the handling of personal information.
  4. We will engage in reasonable and appropriate prevention and implement corrective management measures against risks related to personal information, such as unauthorized access, loss, destruction, alteration, and leakage.
  5. We will make efforts to respond appropriately and promptly to complaints and inquiries regarding the handling of personal information, and will establish the necessary framework to do so.

1. Purposes of Use of Personal Information

We shall obtain and use personal information only when necessary for the execution of our operations, in line with our business purposes (see 7 below). Our purposes of use for personal information are as follows.

  1. Registering transactions between the company and our customers/business partners; confirming the company’s customers/business partners; considering/making decisions with regards to transactions; establishing contracts; and executing, managing, terminating, and engaging in post-termination processing of contracts.
  2. Improving the products and services we provide to customers; sending notices about related products/services; and responding to inquiries, etc.
  3. Confirming and making inquiries regarding products/services provided by our business partners.
  4. Exercising the rights of and fulfilling the obligations of our shareholders under the Companies Act; implementing various measures to facilitate smooth communication between the company and shareholders; creating data, etc., in accordance with standards prescribed under various laws and regulations; and promoting the awareness/mutual understanding of our shareholders.
  5. Confirming registration/participation in the company’s exhibitions/seminars, etc.; communicating with lecturers; reporting results, etc., to those who cooperated with or participated in surveys or various events; and confirming visits/visitor entry to our company.
  6. Communicating with members, etc., of organizations to which the company belongs, and sending various notices from the company in line with the purposes of those organizations’ activities.
  7. Communicating with those at research institutions, etc., regarding the company’s research/development activities; engaging in the matters described in (a) above, regarding the establishment of joint contracts and commissioned research contracts; participating in various academic societies; submitting applications for academic society awards; and filing and managing patent applications with joint applicants.
  8. Communicating with journalists, analysts, etc., in the company’s public relations activities.
  9. Fielding job applications in the company’s recruitment activities; communicating with applicants; notifying applicants of acceptance/rejection; etc.
  10. Communicating, etc., with certified accountants, lawyers, and patent lawyers as required in the course of our business activities.
  11. Communicating, etc., with the company’s subsidiaries and related companies as necessary for the execution of business operations other than those described above.
  12. Sending notices from the company to those who have retired from the company, and communicating with employee family members.
  13. Establishing contracts with contract employees, temporary employees, part-time employees, and hourly employees, and exchanging information necessary for them to perform their duties.
  14. Using personal information received for commissioned operations carried out within the scope of our business purposes, to complete these commissioned operations.
  15. Other operations incidental to or related to the purposes of use described above.

We may, within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use described above, provide personal information to third parties with the consent of the individual, commission third parties to handle personal information, or use personal information jointly with subsidiaries/related companies, etc. (Please refer to “4. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties” and “5. Joint Use of Personal Information.”) In cases where we obtain/use personal information for purposes of use other than those described above, we will provide separate notice or take measures to make such purposes public.

2. Retained Personal Information

In order to achieve the purposes of use described in 1 above, we retain personal information such as the names, addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers, email addresses, gender, age, affiliated organizations, affiliated departments, positions, etc., of our customers, business partners, and other related parties.
We do not obtain or retain personal information that is not necessary for achieving our purposes of use.

3. Management of Personal Information

We take the necessary and appropriate measures to ensure the secure management of personal information, and also strive to keep personal information accurate and up to date within the scope necessary to achieve our purposes of use. In addition, once personal information is no longer needed for the stated purposes, it will be disposed of promptly in an appropriate manner.

4. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

We will not provide the personal information it retains to external third parties without the consent of the individual, except in the following cases.

  1. When, in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, we have notified the individual in advance, or made the details easily accessible; filed a notification with the Personal Information Protection Commission; and established a system to stop providing such personally identifiable information to third parties upon the individual’s request.
  2. When we commission a third party to handle all or part of the personal information within the scope necessary to achieve our purposes of use. In such cases, we establish a confidentiality agreement with the commissioned party and exercise necessary and appropriate supervision over them.
  3. When engaging in joint use of personal information with specified parties, such as our subsidiaries, related companies, etc., within the scope necessary to achieve our purposes of use.
  4. In other cases permitted by laws and regulations.

5. Joint Use of Personal Information

We may share personal information we retain, such as the name, address, phone number, fax number, email address, gender, age, affiliated organization, affiliated department, position, etc., of our customers, business partners, and other related parties, with our subsidiaries, related companies, etc., for the purposes described in 1 above, to jointly use this personal information, while retaining responsibility for its management.

6. Contact for Inquiries Regarding Personal Information

Requests concerning personal information, such as notification of purposes of use, disclosure, correction, suspension of use, etc., as well as complaints, etc., regarding the handling of personal information, will be fielded at the department of the company to which the individual originally provided the personal information. (Please note that when making requests concerning personal information, it is necessary to submit a request form with the required information filled in, and with identification documents attached; the request form will be sent to you upon your inquiry.)   4. Manufacture and sales of specially processed products made from synthetic resin materials and composite materials
  5. Design and supervision of civil engineering and construction, and contracting for such works
  6. Manufacture and sales/purchase of oxygen, nitrogen, argon, acetylene, hydrogen, carbon dioxide gas, argon-carbon dioxide gas, medical gases, special gases, liquefied petroleum gas, and other high-pressure gases
